It seems nonsensical to have a "street date" for release, regarding ultra-premium collectibles, and then allow some to grey-area break that street date for their own financial gain. Personally, I don't think it's that big of a deal, but I do see their argument. ![]() We're not talking massive numbers, but it would appear it's more of a "principle of the matter" thing for the OP. It means SCG's Ragavan will go for higher and the later Ragavans will go for lower, all because some people are allowed to open and sell specific, unique cards earlier than others. This is almost certainly going to play out differently than had all of the serialized Ragavans which were opened before the day after launch were to go on sale simultaneously, as this current Ragavan has no competition. Party B might hypothetically lose a sale because party A was allowed to advertise their premium, in hand, product first, thus diverting demand to them before anyone else has had a chance to compete. I think they're arguing that if you get to open tons of premium product earlier than anyone else, it can unfairly give you an advantage in preselling/competing with others that are going to eventually buy and sell the same type of product.Įven though there's not any more of this specific card, it could arguably be seen as siphoning off demand folks might have had for serialized Ragavans in general. Not OP, but I don't think you're understanding their argument.
